Sierra’s connection with Sunshine CHC runs deep, having first interacted with the organization as a patient in her youth, arriving by snowmachine with her dad, who raised her primarily off-grid. This upbringing has fueled Sierra’s passion for the outdoors and living in rural communities, where she feels most at home. As an avid snowmachiner, she enjoys spending time in the backcountry, marveling at the beauty of the mountains that surround us. This connection to nature drives her to ensure that her work with SCHC helps people remain in our communities and homes for as long as possible, maintaining their health and happiness without the need to leave for care.
Sierra's role as Community Relations Manager allows her to use her personal connection to the community to inspire others and improve health outcomes. She aspires to make a positive impact by helping people get a little more time with the people who mean the most to them. The loss of her father in August 2024 has deeply influenced her and has only strengthened her ambition to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.
Outside of her work at SCHC, Sierra owns Artwork by Sierra Winter, a business focused on snowmachine wraps and brand development for new businesses. Her artistic talents extend to creating beautiful, impactful designs, such as the wrap and mural for SCHC's mobile unit and trailer, which was designed with input from our board members to make these vehicles not only functional but memorable and visually striking. Through her work, Sierra has added color and energy to Sunshine CHC’s branding, embodying what she calls "The Sierra Winter Way."
Sierra’s commitment to the community goes beyond her work at SCHC and her business. One of the programs she supports is her Shop to Support initiative, where a portion of the proceeds from specific products is donated back annually to local organizations. One such organization benefiting from this program is Sunshine Station Childcare Center, a trusted partner in our community’s growth and well-being.
